Wensley Farm is a 2.5 acre country garden filled with old-fashioned flowers and roses and mature trees and flowering shrubs. The owners have a special interest in unusual perennial plants and there is a large collection in the garden.
The garden is designed by the owners as a series of colour schemed compartments flowing from one to another, around a historic farmhouse. You'll find winding paths and beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountains over clipped hedges.
Other garden areas also include a productive veggie garden of raised beds, a citrus orchard and a dedicated cut flower garden.
A special feature is the collection of sculptures reflecting the native birds of the garden. Some may remember this beautiful garden as the home of Country Farm Perennials.
The owners also run Seedscape and you can read more information via their website.
There'll be an extensive collection of seeds for rare and unusual plants on display & for sale. The Neerim South CWA will be providing the catering and some of the proceeds from this opening will be donated to Neerim Health.
Please note: there will be one toilet available for emergency use only due to septic tank limitations. Visitors are advised to stop at public toilets in the main centre in Neerim South (10km) or at the Neerim Junction Public Hall (2km).
Disabled parking, drop off and pick up is available in the garden at the head of driveway. There will be an attendant to direct general parking on the mown roadside and visitors can walk into the garden from here.
Treasured Perennials at The Farm is also opening nearby over this same weekend.
Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
