Sitting on a bed of heavy clay, the garden at Caelum at Mt Macedon has been lovingly nurtured by former owner Margaret Pisaro before being passed on to the current owners who have continued to embrace and enhance the garden.
Enjoy the sunken garden, caged vegetable garden, mature fruit trees and meandering paths that are flanked by perennial beds and mature trees – often ducking off into secret hidden corners! Discover rare and unusual plants and trees influenced by Stephen Ryan and his Dicksonia Rare Plants nursery that thrive in the micro-climates of the garden. And wander past the large stone fountain with its attendant formal gardens after passing through the Echium walk.
Salvia beds will be in full bloom as well as other perennial plantings along the walks, and shrubs tucked amongst the canopy of rare and unusual maples.
At the garden opening there will also be plant sales supplied by Dicksonia Rare Plants, and music in the garden from 1.00pm onwards on both days.
Please note that Stephen Ryan’s Tugurium garden is also open this weekend;
