The garden owner’s love for Aloes is obvious not only in her name – Sue – but by the number of Aloes planted around the property. Their flowers brighten up the garden, attract the nectar loving birds and their architectural foliage comes in many colours, forms and textures.
Featuring an abundance of natives and succulents in bloom at the time of opening, 'suealoe' is a great example of a sustainable garden.
Visitors can easily wander over a hectare of winding paths which are fringed with a large collection of natives, succulents, cacti, ornamentals and caudiciforms (also known as fat-bottomed plants) and water plants, complemented by various forms of garden art interspersed among the plantings.
Sue, will host question and answer sessions at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm each day.
There will be a range of seeds, plants and Sue's metal work for sale at this opening.
The Maude CFA will run a sausage sizzle.
Extra activities:
- Foreshore Geelong – landmark beachfront leisure area with a carousel, Ferris wheel, enclosed sea-water pool, diving towers and boardwalk
- Easy access to cafes, coffee and ice-cream.
- Kevin Hoffman Walk – Lara’s native garden trail Kevin Hoffman Walk is Lara’s native garden trail that stretches along the east side of the Hovell’s Creek.
