This verdant and tranquil family focused garden envelopes and complements the grand 1885 Victorian home and contemporary rear extension. Designed by Eckersley Garden Architecture, the garden was developed in 2020.

The garden invites the visitor on a journey through spaces filled with a wide range of plants. The expansive front garden takes you on a leisurely stroll up to the house along the gravel path crunching underfoot. A playful winding path then leads you down the side of the house and overflows with textural plantings of contrasting leaf forms, densely layered beneath a variety of carefully selected trees that showcases the changing beauty of the seasons.

The rear garden features an inviting contemporary pool and alfresco dining area that draws you outside to relax, dine with family and friends and to enjoy the surrounding garden regardless of the weather. A small kitchen garden comprising of veggie boxes supply the family with summer vegetables and herbs.

This garden is sure to delight visitors with its overall design, planting selection and combinations.

Scott Leung, Principal Landscape Designer of EGA, and Andrew Laidlaw will be giving a talk on the Sunday at 2.30pm. Scott will talk about the garden design and Andrew will speak to the incredible work that GGoP does.

Some of the proceeds will be donated to Global Gardens of Peace (GGoP). There will be a cake stall and GGoP stand at this opening.

Walpole Garden is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
