The Park on Park is a contemporary, executive home set on ½ acre of land. This lifestyle build was designed with an emphasis on combining nature and architecture, and a focus on eco-friendly, sustainable design.

The rich story of The Park pays homage to the location and history of Park Orchards and greater Melbourne and plays on the theme of bringing the outside in and the inside out. The bespoke front copper and brass gate playfully hints at what’s inside, with its nod to the local vineyards, Yarra River, and historical discovery of gold.

The native garden features approximately 14,000 plants and 70 established trees, mixed with a handful of exotic plants and trees. Locally sourced honey granite rocks form a ridge wall extending from the front of the property, inside the home, and out to the backyard.

A river cut from a section of the nearby Yarra River filled with aquatic plants and fish weaves its way through the living area, whilst two large waterscapes with turtles and fish are visible from most angles of the home.

With hidden doorways to intimate spaces and bedrooms designed to capture the morning sun and stunning garden, this contemporary retreat is a hidden oasis breaking the boundaries combining nature and architecture.

This garden has been designed by Landscape Designer: Shaun Laurie, Laurie Landscapes. There is a special twilight event on the Saturday night of this opening delivered by the garden owner, Praty Patel, and landscape designer, Shaun, on aquaspaces. View full details here.

For more details on this garden visit the Park on Park Website and Instagram.

Please note, access to the rear garden is through the home, where visitors will be able to experience the indoor river (shown in the pics above) and the external garden views.  Visitors will be required to remove their shoes at the front door and carry them to the rear garden.

The Park on Park is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
