Sue's Garden was completed in late September of 2020 so is still quite young, but constantly changing.

It can get quite windy at times, so the front and side gardens have been planted with various natives to assist with wind protection of the backyard garden.

Being quite a wet area, care has been taken to raise garden beds and plant a lot of natives that can withstand wet feet, particularly in winter.

Sue is a bird lover and has designed her garden to be a haven for various species of birds, especially as the garden establishes itself. She is already seeing the benefits of the native flowers attracting the nectar-feeding birds and the little blue wren families. King parrots have also started frequenting the garden.

Sue enjoys making and collecting garden art and you can find these dotted throughout the garden which adds another level of interest.

Along with the various different coloured foliage of the plants, other items of interest in the garden include a veggie patch, some fruit trees and of course the chooks that freely wander around the rear of the property.

Sue's Garden is located on the lands of the Bunurong people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
