Winter is a wonderful time to be out in the garden! Perhaps it is too cold to sit outside and relax. However, there are plenty of gardening activities you can do in winter to get the blood pumping and warm the ‘cockles’. The more pruning, cutting back and dividing you do now, will mean more time to sit back and relax during spring.

The workshop will be presented by Stephen Read, a renowned landscape designer who recently led the refurbishment of this garden.

The Winter Gardening Workshop will teach you all you need to know to get your garden ready for spring and will include:

  • fruit tree pruning
  • rose pruning
  • cutting back, lifting & dividing ornamental grasses
  • cutting back, lifting & dividing perennials

The workshop includes a tour of the magical one-acre gardens surrounding 'Chesterfield' – one of Geelong's oldest surviving Georgian homes, built in the late 1840s.
