A lush and leafy paved garden on a sprawling block that retains superb examples of mature trees, seen with decreasing frequency in our suburbs.

Intricate ironwork graces the front balustrade and portico doors. Delicate, ornate furniture was commissioned for the rear garden which provides a cool retreat under an extensive canopy of Liriodendron, Gingkos, Silver Birch, Liquidambar and an impressive 20 year old Wollemi pine. Mass understory plantings of shade tolerant species provide a woodland wilderness ambience. In combination with the trees, these are a prime example of the capacity of plants to cool air temperatures and provide tranquillity.

The owner has an extensive sculpture collection nestling amongst the foliage, including a Stephen Benwell ceramic fountain, Shaun Murphy steelwork and a Fiona Murphy bronze piece.

There will be sculptures on display and for purchase from the LON Gallery and Adam Stone. Some of the proceeds from this garden will be donated to the Fight Parkinson's Foundation.

Please note: Public toilets are located nearby at Hedgeley Dene Gardens.

Sculpture and Shade is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
