Five and a half years of projects by Vassily Skinner have culminated into a pleasing meandering outdoor adventure for this farm garden.
There is a large deep dam near the house and Vassily’s vision has been to create a garden on the dam banks with the water as a focal point.
The expansive planted areas of native and non-native plants unifies the house and the natural landscape beyond.
The dam provides a cooling effect in the summer from the westerly sun and a beautiful outlook from the house all year round.
As well as the house garden, there are plantings around the numerous sheds with some hidden treasures.
Visitors will witness the first early spring blooms including Lavender and Ceanothus. Also, Euphorbia wulfenii and Echium pride of madeira are planted together and will be in a full dazzling display.
There will be a coffee cart on site on both days of the opening.
Parnham Farm is located on the lands of the Bunurong people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
