We're thrilled to be presenting “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” in association with Australian Contemporary Opera Company (ACOCo) at the magnificent heritage-listed grounds of Bolobek at the foot of Mount Macedon.
The Australian premiere of London’s Opera Holland Park smash-hit production kicks off the AOCCo 2022 season and is not to be missed. Premiering in 2013 and running for five consecutive sell-out annual seasons in London, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is designed to delight adults and children alike.
The witty tale shapes Lewis Carroll’s familiar nonsense into a relatable story that remains true to the madcap spirit of the classic book. Led by a collection of celebrated Wonderland characters including Alice, White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter, along with a chorus of Victorians (folk from the historic era and our our state!).
There are two performances of this feel-good, family friendly production which is an accessible opera for everyone. Each is a one-hour staged production, with set and costumes by award-winning designer, Leslie Travers.
Each performance includes access to the award-winning private gardens at Bolobek. You’ll be able to explore the gracious walks, herbaceous borders, woodland gardens, amazing productive garden and so much more.
There will be local produce picnic boxes available for pre-purchase when booking (or bring your own). Local wine will be available to buy at the event. (No BYO alcohol)
