We are delighted to be partnering with Jac Semmler, innovative horticulturist, flower maximalist, and author of Super Bloom, for this very special and exclusive four-part online event, Flower Fundamentals: maximum flowers for summer.

Streaming live from Jac’s home studio and potting shed in the middle of Heartland (her personal experimental garden) and interspersed with video demonstrations, Flower Fundamentals is a practical masterclass designed for home gardeners and fledgeling flower lovers alike. The classes will take you through planning and preparation, propagation and planting, seed saving and garden care to help you grow your own beautiful and abundant summer garden filled with flower fun and a whole lot of heart.

There will be ample time for Q&A and a chance to garden together with Jac into Summer. All sessions will be available online for two weeks if you can’t make the designated time.   

There are three more sessions left:

Class 2: The potting shed - Propagating maximum flowers from seed and cuttings, Thursday 5th October 7.30-8.30pm

A practical masterclass on maximising flowers in your garden through the propagation of seeds and cuttings. This masterclass will  cover techniques, materials and how to transition young seedlings ready for planting. Jac will demonstrate techniques with key tips to economically grow an abundance of plants.   

Class 3: Tending beauty - Planting and caring for your flower garden, Thursday 9th November 7.30-8.30pm

The third masterclass in the series will cover ways to plant and best establish new plantings including the density and distribution of flowers and the editing of direct sown and self sown plants. The masterclass will include how we layer flowers in the garden and extend the flower session through pruning, tending and care. Ample time for q&A to trouble shot any challenges for care in your garden.

Class 4: Saving seeds - Next seasons beauty, Thursday 8th February 2024 7.30-8.30pm

The final masterclass will cover techniques on how to save and store seeds from the garden. The masterclass will cover useful resources and simple materials and tools to clean seeds and store them for the growing seasons to come. Practical demonstrations with tips on storing your seed stash for future planning.
