The property sits high on a ridge overlooking Torquay and the Surf Coast. The views are stunning.

The long driveway features a double avenue of iron bark, referencing the indigenous species of the local Iron Bark Basin. The eastern side of the driveway drops away to reveal a path that leads to a garden in itself.

Designed by Peter Shaw (Ocean Road Landscaping), it features a drystone creek bed that travels along a natural slope in the land to arrive at a labyrinth. This is a space that encourages contemplation within the beauty of the natural landscape. Native grasses and local plants belong and respond to the natural environment.

There are communal spaces featuring a broad flat area of picnic grassland and a firepit seated area nestled amongst native grasses. There are so many areas to explore including a productive garden, pergola area, an orchard and a courtyard featuring deciduous trees.

Peter Shaw will be giving a talk at 11am on both days and will be there to sell his inspiring book Soulscape.

There will be a coffee van at this opening offering hot and cold drinks and sweet treats.

Extra Activities in the Area:

Ironbark House is located on the lands of the Wadawurrung people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
