Illalangi Farm means 'home on a hill' and has gorgeous views across the rolling Barrabool Hills.

The owners have been passionate about creating a refuge for wildlife and shelter, planting over 4000 tube stock trees and shrubs on the site.

One unique feature of the garden is a Sean Godsell designed 30 x 30 meter shelter, which hovers above the house and garden. This acts as a parasol for shade and shelter from the elements. Together with Sean Godsell and Eckersley Garden Architecture the garden and planting design was produced.

With no access to town water, Illalangi Farm is a great example of a water wise dry garden built to survive in all weather conditions.

Scott Leung from Eckersley Garden Architecture will do walking tours at 11am and 2pm both days.

Some of the proceeds from this garden opening will be donated to The Barrabool Rural Fire Brigade and The Geelong Animal Welfare Society

Extra Activities in the Area:

  • Visit Geelong, 10 minutes drive

  • Barrabool Maze, 3 minutes drive

  • Torquay, 20 minutes drive and Anglesea 25 minutes drive.

Illalangi Farm is located on the lands of the Wadawurrung people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
