This is a tranquil, eclectic garden designed to be a safe home for birds and the mob of kangaroos that live here. It sits well in the dry central Victorian landscape, yet there is water and green and a feeling of peace within.

The garden paths wander past walled gardens, secret gardens, sculpture gardens, native areas and the wonderful area set aside for food growing. There is also a ha-ha wall overlooking a park-like area with an 80-metre dry creek bed and native plantings and a small dam surrounded by yellow Iris.

Many old eucalypts are within the garden with a wonderful old red box being of special interest.

The walled garden beds with citrus and avocado show what can be achieved with micro-climate plantings. There are sculptures and quirky features within the garden.

We are also opening Clontarf in Castlemaine this same weekend.

Hedgehogs is located on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
