There is an impressive blend of native flora in the garden at Eungella, some of which is rare and endangered.

No dig and permaculture principles underpin the garden ethos. There is an organic apple orchard and a large vegetable garden using seed collected from previous years growth to encourage adaptation to local conditions.

Phillip Johnson has designed and constructed the magnificent waterways and rock work culminating in the welcome advent of at least seven species of frogs onsite.

There will be two garden tours per day by the owner at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

No parking on-site. Limited on-road parking. Roadside has some steep verges. Visitors may need to walk several hundred metres. Additional parking may be available at Matthias Walking Track Carpark, about 400m away.

Gaythorpe Garden is also opening nearby over this same weekend.

Eungella is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri People. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

Activities in the area:

  • Chelsea Garden Olinda Botanic Garden.
  • Olinda Playspace.
