Come and visit and celebrate this milestone 120 years of the historic house and outstanding garden at Claremont.
An acre (0.4 ha) of beautiful ‘old-style’ garden, including an Edwardian glasshouse, a collection of 100+ year old trees – including a towering Norfolk Island Pine on the front lawn as well as huge oak, ginkgo, liquidambar and arbutus – Claremont has belonged to the Gray family for 120 years.
There are also vegetable and berry gardens and an orchard, as well as ‘traditional’ favourites including roses, dahlias and diverse, colourful garden bed displays.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to GAWS Geelong Animal Welfare Society https://www.gaws.org.au/
Extra activities at the garden opening include:
- Refreshments and local produce sales
- Sales of Anne Vale’s Influential Australian Garden People: Their Stories http://www.heriscapes.com.au/home/
Please also note:
Jason Chongue’s Indoor Plants workshop will also be held on the same Saturday 14 March at Arundel, 478 Ryrie Street, East Geelong through Open Gardens Victoria; see: https://opengardensvictoria.org.au/Jason-Chongue-Indoor-Plants-workshop
