Sharing our gardens with birds can be a joy for us, and importantly, gives us the opportunity to provide a valuable habitat for them. As our urban areas expand and become more dense, turning our own space into habitat refuges is more important than ever.

Join Dr Annie Naimo of BirdLife Australia to learn about the fundamental features of habitat gardening. This session will cover the role of our gardens in supporting wildlife and biodiversity, as well as the principles of selecting plants and designing your garden to support your local birdlife. We will also touch on a number of other steps that can be taken in our homes to promote environmental health and minimise our impact on wildlife.

The speaker for this online event will be on the lands of the Wathaurong people. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
