When the owners purchased Wingspread 14 years ago, this two-hectare property consisted of an original cottage surrounded by paddocks of pasture.

A new home constructed twelve years ago , featured in Grand Designs Australia magazine, marked the start of the planning and planting of the garden you’ll find today. It keeps the best of the original plantings from 60 years ago around the cottage and incorporates them into today’s garden of sweeping lawns and layered beds.

Autumn is an amazing time in the garden with featured plantings of maples, tulip trees, hornbeams and many other cool climate deciduous trees and shrubs.  Approaching via a tree-lined driveway you’ll find a parterre, kitchen gardens, formal avenue, arboretum, pool and tennis court with a great view as the backdrop.

There will be coffee and treats by The Wattle Tree Co, a handcraft stall and wine tastings and sales by Steels Gate Vineyard on both days.

YAVA Gallery and Arts Hub will also be at this opening with some very renowned local artists painting within the gardens. These artists include Margaret McLoughlin, Amanda Ruck, Di King, Beth Williams, Clair Bremner and Ying Tang.
