We're excited again to be partnering with 3000acres to present this series of small, guided tours through some very lush and abundant inner city productive gardens. Tickets must be booked in advance through Trybooking and spaces are limited.

Tina continues a tradition inherited from her Italian father by growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing an abundance of food grown in her suburban home garden.

Redesigned in 2018 to work with nature using permaculture principles, Tina’s garden system balances bio-intensive and natural gardening approaches and combines native bush foods and exotic edible and beneficial plants in a diverse and productive ecosystem.

Natural organic and sustainable gardening techniques include no dig, sheet mulching, succession planting, seed saving, raised beds, wicking beds and food forest layering. Soil is built and nurtured using a worm farm, worm towers, weed tea, worm wee, compost bays, deep litter chook run, chop and drop and hügelkultur. Added outside resources include manure, lucerne hay, cardboard, coffee grounds and kitchen waste sourced from neighbours. Microclimates and the albedo effect are also used to make best productive use of the space.
