Ngamudji means "Bright colours at sunset" and is a native garden on a sloping block.

The Phillip Johnson designed garden features a creek flowing into a waterfall and pond with Southern pygmy perch, and Eastern Banjo frogs.  Large rocks delineate the water features and garden layout. The owner, David, has designed and selected the plantings, propagating many, for colour and to attract birds and insects. He's ensured there's something flowering at all times, but this garden is at its best in late winter and early spring.

Paths meander through floriferous plants surrounding the entire house. There's a vegetable area including some bush foods along one side of the house, a bridge overlooking the front area, large water tanks, and an alfresco dining area.

There is also a roof top garden above the garage with rare and hard to grow West Australian and southern Australian species of plants.

We are also opening Creekside nearby over this same weekend.

Please note: there are no toilets available at this garden but they are located in nearby parks and cafes.

Ngamudji is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri People. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
