Stephen Read joined avid gardener Roberta Shaw chatting about her Fitzroy garden which Roberta has made lush and productive. All this from bits and pieces that others have thrown away, or gifted.
You could miss the fact that all her plants are in pots in this small inner-city space, some rustic pots found discarded on someone’s nature strip – trash and treasure!
The range is huge from fine specimen plants to produce ranging from silverbeet, basil, rosemary to numerous herbs. Roberta is very self-sufficient and has never bought plants, potting mix, seeds, and shares her own composting tips.
