Creekside is a garden spread over a double block. This garden is inspired by the creek running through the little valley at the bottom of the garden.
There are two ponds, one of which was constructed by Gordon Ford and some of the rock work and gabions at the front of No 7 were designed by Paul Thompson.
Recent large rockwork on the northern boundary by Peter Smith enhances the natural 'stroll garden' design with large mudrock steps leading down to the park. The two properties are connected with one of the meandering paths. The new planting is native and largely propagated on site by the owner Ana in her glasshouse. Propagation of the huge range of Australian native plants is a passion for Ana.
At the back, the garden room enclosed outside No 7's house is a mixture of native and exotic planting. Two large white Crepe Myrtles, a wisteria, tall curved brick wall of Boston Ivy, a cherished pomegranate and an apricot tree brought here from a parent's garden create a kaleidoscope of color in Autumn.
This is an inspiring garden which garden owner, Ana, has worked on for several years and there's a lot of hard work and many hours spent in this garden.
Advice on propagating all types of plants, beekeeping and composting available on request. Garden produce, plants and (weather dependent) hot lunch food available.
Please note: The entrance is from No 9 Delta Street. Parking is very limited in Delta Street, so park in any of the surrounding streets (Arundel Crescent or Essex Road).
Creekside is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri People. Open Gardens Victoria wish to acknowledge the Traditional custodians of this land and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
