From the time of their initial construction in 1859, the gardens of Brim Brim have been added to and enhanced by a succession of owners. Much of the current layout has been created since the early 1980s, although there are many remnant trees from earlier generations including cedars, cypress, Bunya Pine and Moreton Bay Fig.

The current owners have built on these historical assets to create an Arts and Crafts garden style. There are scores of standard roses edged with perennials, and spring-flowering bulbs and other plants add much colour to the evergreen garden. Hedges of laurel, viburnum and holly define garden rooms with multiple dry-stone walls, timber gates and tiered garden beds framing the plantings to create a delightful garden experience.

Visitors to Brim Brim are advised that three other gardens are open in the area on Sunday through the Buninyong Festival and Friends of Buninyong Botanic Gardens.

These gardens opening on only Sunday are via a gold coin donation, and a map of how to get to them will be available for visitors at the gate at Brim Brim.
